X-Plane 10.35 beta 1 is out – this is mainly a release to get hundreds of new and updated airports out into the world. There are also a number of bug fixes and some features and improvements to the sim.

  • Release notes – including a list of all of the airports.
  • Bug in the sim?  Report it here.
  • Borked airport from the X-Plane Airport Gateway?  Report it…here!  (You use your gateway account to report bugs with airports on the gateway – or to fix those bugs by updating the airport!)

X-Plane 10.35 beta 1 is meant to be a short, tight release to get out airports; I’d like to have the whole cycle over and done with in a week or two.  We’ll do a larger longer release in the future where we put in bigger features and more code change and let it sit for a while, but this one has been kept lean.

If beta 1 turns out to be reasonably stable, I’m going to look at cutting a beta 1 of WED 1.4 next.

    I saw the Big List of airports… but I missing some airports those are aproved in gateway. This is because they have been uploaded recently?

    1. Probably, yes. We had to have a cutoff date and it was a while ago -it tooks us a few tries to get the bugs out ofthe release process.

      Also, -approved- isn’t enough to get into the sim; only -recommended- is. Additional recommendations will go in the next x-plane release.

  2. Any new significant major key feature to be implemented in the future, i.e in 10.40.
    Area of concern is shaders (ambient oclusion), water dynamics, weather engine, atc and texture?

    Last several updates have been minor bugfixes and of course fokus on the GPS and X-Plane10 Mobil, so now I ask, are you guys heading for the future or develling in the present? 🙂

          1. Nope! This is one reason why 10.35 can happen -quickly-. The main point of 10.35 is to get new airports out and get out a few more bug fixes. Changes to the engine will come in 10.40.

  3. Could you please finally remove the abort rule for Linux/MESA/Gallium drivers?
    I am tired to use the –force_run option, which thankfully exist!

    OpenSource drivers for Radeon (r600/radeonsi) are in a good shape now and do allow X-Plane enjoyment.

  4. Regarding the release notes… under “New ICAOs added…” I see a lot of airports that most certainly have already existed in earlier X-plane releases. Am I simply confused and mistaken or have I completely misunderstood something?

    1. If it existed in x-plane with no gateway airport, no user customization and no scenery, it’s new to the airport program. It may have had pavemnet only scenery in the past.

      1. Ok, that explains. The old versions of the airports I was referring to were nothing more than “simple 2D pavements”.

        I was personally delighted that I was now able to remove all of my gateway submissions from Custom Scenery… and the airports still existed as if they had always been part of the scenery 🙂

    1. Someday, yes. I think the process of doing X-Plane 10 mobile has been good in terms of us improving our UI capability, and all of the CODE behind that UI is cross-platform to desktop. (It’s actually the same code the plane-maker panel editor uses!)

  5. Hi, congz for the update, i have an question about why the updater serve all gateways airport and not only from the regions instaled? Personally i think i m not interesed to download some airport from an area where i not have installed.
    But is only a recomendation / question 🙂

    1. Because the gateway airports are only “placements” and the art is separate, the total download size of the entire world is really small; the entire package is 16 MB compressed. So we do not break it up by region.

  6. Did some test. I found 0 as in ZERO error in the log files. first batch in Canada look ok. more testing to come. but I think this Beta as no fault.
    ho and i did removed the scenery pack from previous fix on the Gateway. all is fine.

    Now we need the NEW WED 1.4 I got job to do on CYQB hehehe

    I have some problems with Weather and Clouds. I setting also 10% Clouds. Clouds kill more FPS in X-Plane 10 10.32b1.

  8. My biggest wish is an Headshaking feature atm. Camera movement depending on g-froces and vibrations. Yes i know, there is a plugin available but sadly it conflicts with very basic things like axis controled camera movement. There are some issues in combination with payware aircraft too where your camera presets are wrong etc. . .
    If only there were an official feature like this 😉

  10. Do I gather from the release notes that it might be OK to install Yosemite on my iMac now and run X-Plane?

  11. This version update is absolutely incredible. I had a small issue with the updater on my slave machines( it didn’t overwrite my earth nav data on the slaves it did on the master) ….but once I copied the master machine folder over to the slaves, everything was happy.

    It is incredible. I’ve won a few fps…the objects are vastly more and improved…my cpflight mcp thru sim-avionics is working much better…network tracking is much better, overall flight movement seems tighter…

    I can’t tell you how impressed I am with xplane. Thank you for your amazing work.

    1. I still have an ongoing issue with cars not translating to the slave visuals…they disappear at the bezel…but, other than that, I can report no bugs for me!! Thanks again!
