We are nearing the end of the beta cycle and it is highly likely that the next build will be a release candidate. (Release notes here.) I’ll continue to sound like a broken record: please test your addons if you haven’t done so already!

One thing of particular note for aircraft authors in this update: we added datarefs to read the contents of the X-Plane default FMS Control and Display Unit (CDU) screen. You can read more about this addition here.

About Jennifer Roberts

Jennifer came to X-Plane to update the manuals and stayed for the bug testing. You'll most likely see her answering bug reports or making video tutorials.

      1. Danke, I didn’t know, much appreciated. You guys are doing a wonderful job

        Horst

      2. any chance you guys can add data refs for G1000 like this too right not Hotstart has to use OCR to read whats input in it via wheel turns be nice if we could have a keypad for the 1000 like whats in the TBM so hotstart can cut down on some of its code in that aircarft

  1. Jennifer,
You are probably aware, but the last two updates do not work from within the program when starting as betas have in the past. They just hang up and if you can force it to go through, you get corrupted data.
The standard updater works fine, but the auto-updater doesn’t.
You don’t have to post this, but I just wanted you to know about the problem – apparently I am not the only one getting this error (but no ERROR message is displayed).
    Thanks,
    John

    1. Hi John,

Please go ahead and file a bug about with more specifics about the behavior you see. Are you on Windows? I did not see an indication of corrupt data or any need to force the installer when updating on Mac, but I did notice that the sim did not close after I opted to quite & update, which is a different type of wrong behavior it seems.

      1. Thank you – I will. I was unsure about the “bug factor” as it is not X-Plane 11, but the updater. Yes, Windows 10 and your symptom is one of the things that happens. Filing bug now.

        John

      2. I also had the same problem on all three of my computers (Windows PCs) running Windows 10. Had to force quite X-Plane, then saw the updater/installer app running in the background. Will file bug report later tonight.

      3. “do not close” on Windows I can confirm.
Got the error message about not having the permission to write.

I made a copy of the installer outside the X-Plane install folder, that copy worked without any problem.

  2. I just noticed that the mobile version of this page lacks the link to the release notes that the desktop version has…

    1. The release notes link was not included initially, so that’s probably why you didn’t see it on mobile, but I have added it now.

  3. Thank you, looking forward to 11.35

Sadly for every updated version I look for those older XPD’s. Are there effective plans for the backlogs or anyway to see a status page for these reported cases.

    For reference sake: XPD-8564

    cheers
    Tom

  4. On a barely related note, it would be great to have a dataref to control the display of the flap & trim indicator on the G1000; currently it displays if engine is turboprop or jet, however there are piston aircraft in the real world that display this indicator.
