Beta 2 of X-Plane 11.40 is now available for LR customers, and we expect Steam to be available within 24 hours.

This update has a few fixes to the experimental flight model and ground trucks. It also contains updates to code signing that start our preparations for the release of macOS Catalina.

  1. nice you updated code signing on the mac about about fixing the lack of reporting to windows so we dont get “this program has stop responding” when the sim is loading?

    1. This should be better in b2. If you still see this please provide a bug report _detailed_ instructions on how to produce this condition with the built-in S-76.

      1. Yes _much_ better. No more ~90%->10% collective to stop into hover ige.

        For v11.10 there was:

“Definitely more accuracy there now, based on a lot of testing against very precise Bell-206 performance data in ground effect, out of ground affect, and at various flight speeds as well, and also in various decent rates including settling with power and power-off vortex-ring-state.”

Is this something that will be repeated for 11.40?

The 11.10 flight model in terms of “to spec” was an order of magnitude better than what came before it, I would say this is now much better in actual behaviour than what came before, but now seems at least slightly off spec compared to 11.10. But short of comparing some modelled vs actual performance (which I can only eyeball) nothing I could detail accurately in a bug report.

      2. Had the same issiue with Dreamfoils Bell 407 with ver. 11.40 but since update to 11.40b2 and enabled the “Experimental aircraft”-choise in X-planes General settings everything works fine again.

  2. any plans to improvements on the Jet Engine model?
such as N1-N2 ratios, Geared Turbfans, triple spool?
